sending file to a printer
Mar 11th, 2010, 1:56pm

I'm using this command to send a file to a printer, but only part of the document prints, not the whole thing:

lp -dDEBPRNTR /SYBASE/reports/c_out

Only the first couple rows get printed. How can I get all the data in the file to print?  Thanks for any ideas.

Check the contents of the file.  Does the file contain ONLY text?  Can you display it on your monitor?  Perhaps there are escape characters that commands for the printer.

Can you print a test file containing ONLY text to the same printer?  How is the printer device and queue setup?  Perhaps there are configuration settings that are impacting this situation.

This may be difficult for the forum to determine without examining the actual file and printer settings.

I think it is just text. I can display it on the monitor. I can email the file too.
I'm not sure how to check the printer device and queue set up though.
What should I check?
Thanks very much for the help!
